I am running Firefox 14 on Windows 7 64-bit. The default Firefox configuration is very "slim" and plain. I opened the "configuration" and added the menu bar, bookmarks toolbar, and icons for Cookie Killer, Download Helper, Downloads, etc. to the menu bar. It works fine for a day or two but then the next time I boot up the PC all of my custom configuration is gone and Firefox has annoyingly reset itself to the default "slim" configuration. It also opens in the upper left corner of the screen in a "deformed" shape.

Why is this happening? I have run Spybot Search and Destroy, Malwarebytes, and Norton AV, but they all turned up nothing. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for any and all advice!

Create a new profile and test it http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/208070-firefox-create-run-multiple-profiles.html

You should update to the newest FF which is 18

Jerry

Thanks! I already was running FF 18 but didn't realize it. In any case, I followed your suggestion for creating a new profile, and it seems to have fixed the problem. I deleted the old default profile, which appears to have been corrupted. It's been a few days and FF seems to be behaving itself.

Thanks again! :D
