firefox restart not working

ok when i install an add on or theme i have to restart ff for installation to complete. when i click restart ff it doesn't restart when i start ff manually,
install is not complete.
the only way i can get it to complete is to restart pc whic obviously is a pain

the only instance i see is ff.exe but surely thats because im running it at present ? have i missed the point
edit; changed the theme on ff and for some reason it now restarts ok .ah well

well back now still cant access mozilla add ons via google , i have managed to get there via firefox /help that takes me to ff help page then at bottom of page is a link for add ons, im wondering if google dont want people getting to firefox, and hoping they'll settle for chrome. conspiracy theories aside i would really like to get stylish running i still get error message , anyone with any advice! its most appreciated

Well i found a way to fix it, though its not pretty. I had to totally uninstall firefox and reinstall it, I did a clean install so everything was gone. Addons install perfectly now, hope this helps.

thanks , i reinstalled quite some time ago when i couldnt get stylish add on to work still cant! thanks for intrest though
