I just got a new computer and upgraded to Window 7. I cannot live without my Firehand Ember. It is the program that I have used for the last 10 years and have no desire to go to a new program. Someone on these boards left information on how to adapt it to Windows 7. But I have also read nightmare stories about how the writer of this program put something into the program so it will crash your computer.

My cousin who set up my computer does not want to install it for me so I told him I would check the forums and find out in others have been able to safely download Firehand Ember and adapt it to Windows 7.

Please, please, if you have had a good or bad experience with Firehand Ember and are still using it or have stopped using it, I would like to hear from you. Thanks.

Have you tried right clicking on the install file, click on properties, click on compatibility, and choose for example Win XP SP3? Sometimes works on older programs.

Firehand Ember Replacement

A big "THANK YOU" to whoever suggested I give up on Firehand (for Windows 7)
and try "FastStone Image Viewer" instead.

FASTSTONE is just as easy to operate and is BETTER THAN EMBER FIREHAND.

BETTER you ask? BETTER.

Free software but donations are accepted. I donated $15 and they send a product key for full version.

THANK YOU.

P.S. I bought Adobe Photoshop but now it sits idle.
P.P.S. (07/03/2016) I installed Firehand Ember on Windows 7 and did change the compatibility. I use it only for 1 or 2 features (occasionally) that are NOT available on FastStone. Now I have the best. An by the way, I am a big Adobe Acrobat fan (stepup from Reader) but I don't care for PhotoShop.
