So earlier in the week, flash decided to take a nosedive. No flash based websites will open, and youtube won't fully load videos like it used to (I have Fios, and good Up/Download speeds).

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling 3 times, then once more but with Flash version 10.2.

I'm unable to go to a system restore point because none of the points go back far enough. I thought it may have been my anti-virus, but even disabling that hasn't fixed it. Is there anything else I can do? I'm prepared to toss the computer and call it quits, and any help would be most appreciated.

There may be pieces of Flash leftover that do not uninstall. You can try two programs

This is the link to the Adobe site for the flash player uninstaller. Try running that & then reboot, then reinstall flash player. Make sure you get the file from the Adobe site.

Before using the next program, it would be wise to back up your registry.

Revo Uninstaller will remove leftover registry keys and other items that could be causing the problem. Be sure to read the documentation on using this as you can easily hose your system with this tool. Use it carefully.

Is there any sort of alternative? Say I use a restore point (Which I have to work on because apparently my anti-virus blocks it) to before I was having problems; how would I go about installing the newer windows updates to see what caused the problem?

You can try using HTML5, although not as widely used as flash, it is an alternative

Your AV shouldn't disable/block restore points. What AV are you running?

If you find that the restore points don't go back far enough, you can set the Disk Space Usage under Advanced System Settings to allow more space for restore points.

Another way to access restore points is to boot in safe mode and try to do a system restore from there.

It sounds like you may have a virus. Best to run a scan with the following utilities to see what they turn up.

Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer

You may want to consider doing a clean install and starting with a clean system:

Or, you can try running a SFC:
