Well, I wrote this post a couple of days ago and was going to go to the preview window and it literally disappeared. Logged out & came back a couple hours later and somehow I was still logged in! How weird is that???
I had been having problems viewing videos and it kept telling me that I needed flash player even though flash player 16 was listed in ctrl panel and enabled in add-ons. When I checked, it said that I may not have flash player installed or not enabled. Thinking maybe there was something wrong with it, I went ahead to download & install flash player 16 (on Adobe site). It completed successfully, so it said, but after checking, it still said that flash player may not be installed or enabled. Repeated the process a few times more with same results and then discovered 2 desktop.ini icons on my desktop and also McAfee Security Scan Plus installed itself on my PC.
Ran several scans for virus etc. & all OK except Avast Security listed about 20 files that were password protected but they seemed all to make reference to download/install flash player.

Could someone please tell me if I can safely delete these desktop.ini icons from the desktop and the other desktop.ini icons scattered elsewhere like in pictures etc.?
Also, what is the best way to uninstall this McAfee Security ?
Also, can those 20 password files be deleted - I couldn't find where to do this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

PS-- Copied this just in case I lost it again and save a lot of typing, but now cannot remove the 'bold' type! :( Not my day!

Hi,
You haven't said which browser your using that prompts to install flash with :(
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keep-flash-up-to-date-and-troubleshoot-problems
In Internet explorer use Gear symbol on the top right and Safety and see if Active x filtering is checked if so Uncheck it,
Active x filtering might even show a Blue circle with a slash through it on the right side of the url address bar if so right click it and click on disable.
Cheers.
