Is it just the Desktop Icon that you are concerned about. Right click your mouse on Desktop & select Properties, then select Change Icon, that should open up a lot of icons.
You may find that it has highlighted one already, if not you can select one. The icon on my Desktop folder looks like a miniature computer screen.
