Solved Folder "group by" option is greyed out

I have Windows 7 HP x64 (from two different DVDs) on both my PC and one of my laptops. On the PC I can select 'Group by' for a folder, when I right-click, in all folders. On the laptop though many folders have this option greyed out (though not all): for instance I like this option (by date) for the recent folder (C:\Users\Martin\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent). OK on the PC, greyed out on the laptop.

No, no one. Oh well..

FYI, I have discovered that can use the 'Group by' option if the view in the folder is 'details'; but go back to 'list' view and the option is greyed out again. It's not like this on my other Win7 PC - but that's OK, I can use details view and just remove the unwanted columns.
