yeah i tried this already, and my font say Arial in google chrome settings as well as the Pokerstars client. Mind you i did not find the font settings under advanced settings? I located it under Settings>Appearances, maybe im missing something.

It's like my Arial is now defaulted to Italics? very strange, i wonder if i could have some sort of virus after using CCleaner? i did run a quick scan with Bitdefender and says my PC is 100% clean? not sure whats going on, thanks thought :)

No reason to worry about CCleaner. it is highly rated by many members of this Foum. I think your problem is more likely to be because you have no anti virus software installed. Why is that? Would suggest that you download and install Windows Security Essentials!
Have you tried a different browser, would suggest Firefox.

I don't want to be pedantic, but it is actually Microsoft Security Essentials. :)

Backup Option

If you use CCleaner to clean your Registry and you are not sure what the entries it is going to remove do, use the backup option when CCleaner offers it to you. :)

Obviously this isn't going to help in your current situation. :(

Hey there sorry for the delay, I do have an anti virus program (Bitdefender 2016) and i also ran a quick scan and said my computer was clean. I went back to the oldest date in my chrome history (CCleaner deleted history and cookies etc) which was most likely the day i downloaded and installed CCleaner (Sept/13)

Do you guy think i could do a system restore or some sort of back date to the 12th or something? Sorry i'm not the best with computers, but always learning:) Thanks a lot for the help

I notice its not just in my browser, other programs such as pokerstars/steam etc. some parts of the text are Italics and some aren't. verry strange, even when the default is set to Arial in the client, it wants to go Italics.

there may be a malware infiltration, malwarebytes free solves it or adwcleaner free (same company) do a scan in normal mode running as administrator and another scan safely. It is a plugin that has been integrated into your browser, restore the browser to default.

Yeah not sure if i want to try another program (Malwarebytes). Doesn't Bitdefender do the same thing? Anyone else recommend Malwarebytes? I just don't want that to mess anything up more that it already is. I also use this machine for business purposes so i hope it doesn't have a virus:(

Thats why i purchased Bitdefender 2017, thought it was the best. Thanks again everyone

My Bad

You're right (at least that's what has been reported). :)

I couldn't find it on my XP VM (32 bit) even though I had a corrupted version of the CCleaner v5.33 installer.

And as mitchell said.... I'm using 64 bit? Would a system restore help? Thanks
My bad. :o

System Restore might work if you have a valid Restore Point (i.e. from before the time that the problem started).

You should consider using backup images.
I make one every month before installing the latest Windows Updates.
I also make one before installing new drivers.

I prefer to use Macrium Reflect.

Ok guys so i tried a system restore to the most recent date before the 13th of Sept which ended up being all the way back to July 15th. I error message saying it could not complete the restore about 15 mins in :(
(i'll post image below)

I then tried the free version of Malwarebytes from their website and found 12 threats. I proceeded to quarantine these as recommended by the program, then rebooted my comp, and still no change? not sure if that has anything to do with it or if those threats need to be deleted??

Last thing, i ran a full scan using Bitdefender (took 5 hrs) and said system was clean. Does this program not have a build in malware device?? or is it usually separate? Anyways, thanks a bunch for the replies....maybe it has something to do with the default Arial font installed or something? or you think something could still be up?
