font install problems

Hi all.

I hope this is in the right section, I wasnt too sure.

I am having problems with installing a font on windows 7 64 bit. I have downloaded the font, and installed it by dragging it from the downloads and dropping it into the fonts folder. I have used the font using coreldraw (the only thing I use the computer for) and saved the document. When I return to the document and reopen it, I get a message stating that the font is no longer installed and offering an alternative. If I then open the font folder, sure enough it is not in there. However, if I then try to drag and drop the font from downloads back into the font folder I get a message stating that the font is already installed, and asking if I would like to replace it. If I choose to replce it, then I can open the document in coreldraw properly, but the next time I use the computer it is back to the initial problem again.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I should mention I am by no means very computer savvy, so any explanations would be appreciated in laymans terms where possible :)

thanks Jerry. Im wondering if it is maybe an incompatible font or something, as neither of those install options work. If I double click on the file it asks me to select the program that I want to use to open the file. How can I tell if this is the case?
