Fonts and Icons Resizing themselves

For no reason at all, my laptop just spazzes out and everything starts resizing. The cursor becomes a magnifying glass, and the fonts switches between 10 different sizes every second. When I put Mozilla at the bottom, my icons starts moving up and down between sizes on the desktop.

I pressed tons of buttons on my keyboard 'cos I was tilting something chronic, and it stopped. I didn't touch anything, not even the mouse, and 40 seconds later they started going crazy again.

Thanks for any replies, it's driving me insane as I can't do anything.

Well,, I might start with replacing the keyboard and mouse

Then maybe scan for malware and viruses (and no, AVG is not good enough)
Malwarebytes, Spybot S&D, and install Microsoft Security Essentials.

If that doesn't work,, then either you are still infected with something strange
You have other hardware problems
May be a driver problem. (doubtful, would be a strange problem, but not saying impossible)

Due to this type of issue,,, I might backup all my data and start over from scratch (Nuke and Reload)
This would be the easiest solution,,, if the problem still happens, then it's got to be a hardware issue of somekind,, however very strange one.

You could try a sfc /scannow but I kinda doubt it will work,, however,, it won't hurt to try.

Something is stuck. Examine your keyboard and make certain that all keys have returned to their normal top position.

It's a laptop by the way, and I'm not certain if the keys can pop out.

Doing an MBam scan now, then will do S-S&D, (YN). Will let you know how it goes.

Well,, yes,,, the keys on a laptop can pop out,, yo must be very careful when doing it, you can break the tabs (sticks) that hold them in. But it can be done and they can be put back if you are careful enough.

Since this is a laptop,,, this is the only thing you can do to check if it is the keyboard (which does sound most probable). Keybaord replacements can run about 20+ dollars, depending.

I used to know several very good, inexpensive laptop parts dealers, but have lost the names at this time.

I'll definitely get a couple of spares in the next week or two, as I've noticed a lot of small bits getting stuck under my keys.

And this seems to have solved the problem, thanks guys (Y).

I guess I am curious as to what fixed the issue,, Keyboard or Infection?

It seemed to work, but now it's happening just as often as it did 2 days ago. :/

I'll backup my files and re-install W7 tomorrow I guess, which is annoying, but meh.

Anyone else with any ideas? It's still doing it, and when it happens I can't do anything at all.

I really don't wanna reinstall windows, but it looks like I'm going to have to..

If you beieve that it is a software problem, rather than hardware, then instead of reinstalling, why don't you try a System Restore first...that is if you have a restore point dated prior to when the problem began.
