Hi Guys,

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. I was not sure when did I off the auto update function until last 2 weeks. I turned it back on and I update everything that were pending. Then until this week, I keep having the same two updates (KB265651 & KB2600217). And every time I shut down my laptop, it keeps showing the screen where the updates are being applied. It's already the 5th day, the same updates still appear in Windows Updates and also keep "updating" whenever I shut down my laptop.

How do I get rid of it? It seems that they couldn't be applied or something.

Hope to hear from you guys. Thanks :)

One looks like a .Net 4 client and the other, KB2656351, looks like a .Net 4 Extended. You might look in the Programs and features for those two items. If you right click and select change/uninstall, it should give you an option to repair. Maybe that would either allow them to be loaded or reset the system.

Are the two updates, in fact installed? There are cases where updates are continued to be offered even after they have been installed.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. :)

I tried repairing both of those you mentioned. Both did not succeed.

For .Net Client Profile:

I suppose you did reboot, and possibly a complete shutdown prior to rebooting? I know the process for setting the software up on your system can take quite a bit of background CPU time.

Someone else may have more info, but you might think about uninstalling .Net 4 at some point and let it reinstall or reinstall it yourself. But I don't have any experience with it.
