format but keep the os

I want to erase everything on my computer but the os, and i dont have recovery disc. is there a way? and im on windows xp (a different computer than my system specs). halp please.

The best way to do that is to return to factory specs. Either you recd a DVD with computer or a certain f key during boot will return the computer to the way it was when your brought it home. Everything else is gone.
