Does anyone look at this site anymre?

I am still using Windows 7 on an old desktop. It still works pretty well. Except for the Microsoft antivirus seems to not really update or maybe does. It is hard to tell.

I know there used to be a number free antiviruses that worked I would to try one of them. Does anyone have a recomendation?

Thanks

Microsoft Security Essentials 4.10.209.0 still works fine in Windows 7, and it updates its definition files on a daily basis.

I have 4 full-time desktops running Windows 7 with ESU support, and it works fine in all of them.

Using MSE and MBAM is a good idea so long as they don't conflict with each other. Just don't, what ever you do, use AVG. That's been awful since the beta XP versions of the program.

And I can confirm that you don't need ESU support to get the definition updates for MSE, that and the MSRT are the only parts of the extended security updates that are free to everyone.

I have 4 Windows 7 machines too, two are laptops, two are VMs. None have ESU support, all get the definition updates.
Here's one of them, with definitions dated 2 August 2022 (date is in UK date format).
