I just noticed infrarecorder on that list

I installed it yesterday and got rid of it after running into problems (crashed on first run afer a while, then it pretended it was burning, but wasn't, it also corrupted a disc), am I the only one thinking this might not be windows 7 compatible?

I've had no problems with this program on 64bit...

this thread is not for applications that work on x64 windows7, it's for native 64 bit applications.

About infrarecorder, I don't want to be a pain, but if it got in based on one person's opinion, one person should be enough to at least remove it temporarily, unless others have confirmed it works, just trying to be logical here.

InfraRecorder 64 works here just fine.

Also, Nir Sofer has many more 64bit versions of his programs than before - the fulle list is available at Download 64-bit (x64) utilities package for Windows

yes, very useful applications (I have used regscanner and regfromapp for quite a while)

about infrarecorder, you really tested this thoroughly (not just doing a basic job and closing the program, actually testing it)?

I am used to testing software, and I can tell that the installation I tested was able to do correct burning when using a normal pattern, but that it wasn't robust at all when complicating things a bit, but may be it was just a local problem here or bad installation (and I am just talking about windows 7 installation, never had a single problem with infrarecorder on other os)

do you have have the smoke animation when burning? (smoke coming from the burning window) I used to have that in vista in infrarecorder, but not in xp, and not in windows 7.

No animation, and if you would like I can run through a set of tests to check the burns - but so far no issues....

I don't want this to be any trouble for you, may be I should just retest

my record with it was: 1 crash, 1 successful burning, 1 reportedly successful burning but it did nothing in fact, and 1 corrupted dvd. That was enough for me to get rid of it.

Back to iTunes: The Programm itself is NOT a 64Bit Application, the 64Bit-Installer includes only 64Bit DRIVERS for burning CD/DVD and the iPhone... iTunes itself runs as a 32Bit Application...

Recuva is a nice lightweight there.

Another one I've been looking over for the 64bit Windows as well as the 32bit by the makers of Spyware Terminator is called System Protect that also acts like a firewall around the system registry like the active sheild does in the ST program.

This one by the same people however is a separate program by itself to be looked over at File and Folder Protection – Free System Protect
