I have a 2 year old machine I built and the OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. It was freezing up before so I just completly reinstalled it again and the problem persists. I get the impression it is either the RAID controller card or something on the motherboard.

The freeze up always happens during a game of BF2 this was never the case before so I don't think its the game or the video card. But then again what the hell do I know. Any help is apreciated.

Thank you.

Hello,

You are getting 0x124 bugcheck, which is often a hardware error. Because I see no software causes, I would advise some hardware tests.

Test RAM first:

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 6 passes.

Are you doing any overclocking? If so, reset to defaults.

Test your temps while gaming, with Speedfan.

While you have Speedfan installed, test CPU: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100352-cpu-stress-test-prime95.html

Hello,

I'd still think hardware is the cause. Run each of the three Prime95 tests: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100352-hardware-stress-test-prime95.html

Update to SP1: Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

If Prime95 comes back clean on all tests, upload a jcgriff2 report: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html
