Freezes, games and HD access

Is Windows 7 . . . - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? 64 - the original installed OS on the system? user built, yes - an OEM or full retail version? full retail - What is the age of system (hardware)? New system build Oct 2011. New mobo/cpu/ram/SSD. 2 older 2tb internal drives (less than 2yrs old). 2 new 3tb drives (1 of those is the one not recognizing intermittently) - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) Installed in Oct 2011.

System recently started hanging/freezing. Would most often do it when I came back to it after monitor/hard drives turned off. No sleep or hibernate. It would often not respond at all. Monitor light would come on, but screen would never show. Would have to hit power.

Within a week, it will freeze in use. Sometimes when playing a game (LFD2) or when just navigating around in web browers or file explorer.

I did notice a few weeks back my main hard drive for new torrents would just drop off and I would have to reboot and it would show up again. It is not doing that now. However I did check disks on all my drives and they were ok, but THIS drive will not even show me the properties dialog box to check disk.

Now it will randomly freeze in use, no guaranteed action to make it fail. Will play LFD2 for 20-30 mins and usually freeze now at some point requiring hard reboot.

Sometimes just navigating in file explorer will do it, but not necessarily any particular drive (i.e. it doesn't do it everytime I try to access I certain drive).

The only older part of the system is a 260 GTX video card. But that is still only a few years old.

Stop any overclocking if any

TDR116 is essentially caused by by bad drivers or a fault in your RAM/GPU

K, installed Nvidia drivers. Played around of LFD2 to see if fixed it. Crashed after about 10 minutes or so.

Uploaded that crash report (crash 2). While I was trying to put the folder in the zip file, winzip hung and wouldn't respond. Could still move the mouse and navigate to other windows.

Tried ctrl-alt-delete and it took me a to a black screen (nothing there) and wouldn't respond. Finally had to power off manually. I'm going to run the tool again and see if that crash report is any different.

EDIT - ok uploaded that as "crashed during report"

Appreciate the comments - will run memtest here shortly. No overclocking funny business going on. Heat is a good idea. Got two 120mm pulling in, 1x120mm pulling out and another 120mm on top.

No recent dump files are present in your attachment, the last one dates back to Sat Mar 3 2012. We'll need newer dumps in order to find the most recent causes.

According to your last crash the cause was still your Display Driver, I would recommend swapping the card in another PC to see if the freezes & crashes could be replicated. This is likely a hardware error.

You are right, I noticed that date on the dump file and thought it odd. Went through tutorial and tried to change location.

I did run memtest86 and it ran 7 make that 16 passes overnight with zero errors. So that's at least good for clearing the RAM as culprit.

Agree video card is next to check. Wouldn't be too put out if I had to replace it, been getting long in the tooth to be honest.
