Solved Fresh install of W7 pro, but having issues.

Hi guys and gals! I think I have been a member here for a while.
I have a fresh install of W7 installed and put the MB drivers on a thumb drive and installed those. And I activated the license.
I'm on line, but I can't install simplex or Chrome or anything else.
What forum here would I want to go to for help or reading other posts dealing with the same issues?
I just want to update the OS, DL some cleanup SW and then go mostly off line with this PC.

When you try to download is it the same error code, if so what is it......

please run sfc /scannow

then run Msinfo32, zip and paste please

This is pro, in days past I ran Ult. It has been year since I played with W7, so I'm a little out of touch with the OS. I need it to run old SW.

you missed the space in sfc /scannow....

I'm not sure I can zip. I can't install any 3rd party apps ATM. Is there an app on the install file to zip?

There is nothing I can do.... I can't even log into WindowsSevenFourm page. Much less download anything. I'm stuck.

I did arrive at this page on W11. Do I need to DL it to a thumb drive and put into the W7 PC?

I think we have a failure to communicate. I can get to a browser and search on W7. I cannot open any of the links or install any program. It's like I'm hitting a firewall that will not allow anything, even "run as admin"

Okay, I'm on the move again, lol. I managed to dl Firefox and now I can successfully get to the web. Whew!!! It appears that IE and Bing were preventing me to do anything. I'm dl'ing simplex updates now

looks like your Ethernet drivers were not slipstreamed correctly into the Iso....

download them to a usb, install

OK, thank you!!!I am having some issues with the ethernet drivers. I'm currently installing the Simplix update as per this thread. Beyond this update, what else should I do before going off line. I know that I need to install wifi, GC, and other drivers. And cleanup programs like ccleaner.

I re-installed 7 couple months back on an old rig

ended up with 48 upates. including NetFramework 4.8, after about 3 reboots in less than 2 hours

Dont really need CCleaner, just use basic MS clean-up tool

for your drivers head to Snappy drivers USE the LIGHT version

Turn OFF IE11 in Program/Features>>> features (top left) as your using FF
Remove BIng

once your happy with your install create a back-up

happy OFFline playing

Thanks Torchwood. You have been a great help! I have IE turned off but I can't find how to remove Bing. It's not in the apps. They are all POS.
And thanks for all the tips!!
I probably be asking for mor help getting my GC to play nice.

Bing is not an application. There is nothing to uninstall. There is a bing.com website but guess you are talking about the Bing search engine. Bing is the default search engine for Internet Explorer and Edge. If you don't like the Bing search engine then use something else.
