Fresh install of Win7, yet very unresponsive and slow?

One last thing, what part of the system causes the HUD to pop up when you change the volume or switch the wireless on and off? Like a little symbol of a speaker of antenna?

It used to do that on my old system, but is missing now.

You need to install the keyboard drivers from Acer website. link in post 9.

If you clean reinstalled using a Win7 installation DVD and not the Acer Recovery partition or Disks, then the factory bloatware and utilities were not reinstalled.

What you describe sounds like a useless Wireless Manager utility that never works as good as the one built into Win7 accessed through your System tray; rightclicking the troubleshooter actually fixes things in Win7.

I had only suggested to slave the tested HD to the new install to format a partition so you can run Disk Check which is a vital HD companion test to HD diagnostics CD scan. But you can instead try install after testing HD to see if it needs repair.

If install fails, I'd still try to format a partition using a bootable partition manager like Partition Wizard which has Disk Check built in. The combination of HD repair scan and Disk Check can repair and return a HD to service indefinitely.

It's back!

I used that hardware vendor detection utility before, it just shows the brand of the webcam, VGA, Wireless and LAN.
