Solved Friends GPU Temp way to high, even on idle.

Hi, my friends GPU is way to high even on idle, have a look. I am not sure if it has a fan or not. I shall soon see.

If the case is full of dust bunnies, get the compressed air can and give it a go...

just looked it up and pic for 8400 has a fan

138 is pretty hot.

I know GPUs can run hotter than CPU's but thats too hot

The first temps listed look up there too at 100F.

Uh? Those temps are all fine, especially the CPU. Even more so if the temperature where he is was in the low 30's like it was here today. Same can probably be said for the video card. Also not all 8400 GS came with a fan,

rmw020, if it is/was hot where you are today and the video card (and case for that matter) is clean of dust I wouldn't worry too much about that idle temp. The temp to worry about is what it gets to under load.

It can get really warm in his house m8, i have suggested a new case like the one i have for better air flow etc.

Sorry was meaning CPU was fine. I was thinking the other temps were a little high.
