Hi i'm having an issue with my front audio jack, the mic works kind-of (when i hit listen i can talk and hear myself through the speakers but when i try to record it sometimes says cannot detect recording device and sometimes it records but scilence) but the headphones do not (When i go into sound in control panel it says that the headphones are not plugged in when they are). I tried to solve this issue with the Realtek manager as i read it can help but when i instal the latest version, the manager is no where to be found just like the guy in the thread below

Solved Realtek HD manager missing - Page 2 - Vista Forums

Im running windows 7 on an Asus P5B Deluxe motherboard.

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Forums.

Have you tried Setting the front panel in your BIOS to AC'97?

WOW that worked!!!! ok now one more problem is i would like the front headphones to overpower the speakers (back jack) when they are plugged in. How can i do that?

I don't think that can be done by software ( sort me out if i'm wrong ), you'll need to do it manually via the speakers.

Deary me, maybe you should system restore to before you messed with the drivers. And leave it at that.
