Welcome to the Forums,

This has been happening on Steam games for quite some time, but there is also another way to test out for getting a game to work. What you have to do is right-click on the game you wish to play then click on Properties (should be at the bottom of the new bar that was opened). Then you go to Local Files and click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache. That usually stops games on Steam from crashing, but if the problem continues after doing this, just reply and I'll see what else i can scrounge up.

Hope this helps you.

If you have really updated your Audio and Video drivers correctly, another thing you can check, along what Blacksparrow suggested is to make sure you are not overclocked... some games just don't like it. Another thing would be to check and see if you can get more stable with just 1 core and not 4 even though I also have am i5 CPU and MW3 played w/o a hiccup with 4 cores.
