Gaming Case Help

I keep my case right on the desk :) It manages to suck enough dust there as it is. I'm loathe to imagine how bad it would be placed on my carpeted floor.....

It is just a matter of personal preferences regarding aesthetics. I quite like the glowing 'spaceship monstrosity' aspect. Every room should have one :p

Truthfully, all my other cases have been budget, no-name bland pieces of crap. This is the first one I've spent any decent amount of money and time on and as such, I want to enjoy the fruits of my labour.

Perhaps I'm going through a belated juvenile fancy or I'm making up for lost time. Regardless of the reasons, I'm proud of what I've achieved with this rig and I'm happy to show it off.

Even my best mate who hates computers, was highly impressed by it and that is no mean feat, I can assure you. So I must have done something right ;)

I went with the RaidMax Smilodon myself...
Full size...so it's roomy.
Circulation is excellent as reflected by my Temps.

But the main selling feature is both sides open down all the way and/or can be removed for the build.

This case is really nice. I'm looking at building a new comp soon as well and probably going with this one. Full size, 4 fans, and i have 2 friends that have this and the LED really isn't that bright. I've never seen anyone sit it on their desk tho. If you don't like it on carpet, it's REALLY easy to find some wood or build a 12" platform or something for it to sit on. Hell just stack some books or a milkcrate works well.

There's also a 90$ version of this. It's just last years model. If price is a bit high.

I call it the craptop.
well i bit the bullet and just bought a cm storm scout case and a corsair hx620w psu.

i didnt want to go for a full tower cause those things are just huge and i wont ever have high end parts to fill the thing.

i will be using my build mainly for photoshop, video encoding ,internet/IM and some gaming(not too much).

my current system is like this:

case - thermaltake soprano
psu - cheap brand 500W
cpu - amd athlon 64 x2 5000+
mobo - gigabyte GA MA78GM S2H
memory - 4gb ocz platinum 800mhz 1gb x4
hdd - old 120gb wd ide drive
optical drive - liteon dvd multi lightscribe ide drive

do you think i should instal all my current parts in the new case with the new psu untill i get the other parts and just add them bit by bit or leave it as is untill i get the rest of the parts?

oh yeah i get paid monthly(which sucks) so will be buying a few parts monthly.
