Hey there,

A small detail to point out. Your title says GTX660 but in your description it says GTX 600 ;)

Sorry to point it out, but knowing this will help members to help with your problem more efficiently

I will see if i can find the Microsoft article about this but if i remember rightly you need to edit and entry in the registry... it's not actually the the card drivers but Windows... it is due to a time out error of some kind.

I had a similar issue with an AMD card

Well... struggling to find the article i used but this may help (i believe it's more a workaround than an actual fix...)

Check the 2nd bullet point called TdrDelay in the below list (click the link)
I increased this value to 30 i think and that resolved the issue for me (the default value is 2)

TDR Registry Keys (Windows Drivers)

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Jamie

I think it solved it with the TdrDelay registry key thing, I upped it to 15 seconds and no crashes as of yet, I'll keep playing and see if it does but thanks for the help anyway :D

I am experiencing the EXACT same symptoms after a recent upgrade, audio glitches, then screen locks up and goes black, then a message that the driver has stopped working.

Hello I have a windows 8.1 Pro pc with a GTX660 and my graphics driver keeps crashing  I would like to know how to install those TDR files, and see if that would fix my problem. If anyone could help then that would be great :)

Having a similar issues; after updating my GTX 660 Drivers, the screen will go black for a few seconds then come back on. No error messages or anything. Trying to do the TDRKey fix, but am not experienced enough with this to know what I am doing. The link does not give enough info of where I actually make the edits.

I also tried this Black Screen After Installing Latest Driver for Asus Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 Ti on WIndows 7 [Solved] - Asus - Graphics Cards to no avail. Any help on this would be deeply appreciated.

Specs:
MOBO - Fatal1ty
CPU - intel i5 dual core 3.3Ghz
GPU - Nvidia GeForce 660 GTX
RAM - 16GB

Better late than never - maybe this will be helpful for those, who are googling it now:

Had similar issues with my GTX660 - GPU crashed (screen went black for few seconds, sound freeze, sometimes restart needed to resolve, sometimes it just went back to normal) - what I did was in MSI Afterburner just turn the GPU Power to 110%, thats it! Problem gone! Well, at least for me! Hope this helps!
