generic help for BSOD's

Well it seems like it has been getting busy on the blue screen of death front. In the past day or so I have done 51 of them.

They seem to be more 64bit by far than 32. Of the last 51, 49 were 64bit.

Because of the increase I thought I would add some generic fixes that anyone can use to help themselves

A majority of BSOD's are caused by:

Overclocking
Memory
Drivers

1-Overclocking. DONT

2-Memory--download and run memtestx86 for 7-8 passes (or more) to find out if you have either memory problems or heat issues

3-Drivers-- what else-- update everything. I have seen drivers from 1994 on some systems. You can also run Driver Verifier which will tell you (an iffy proposition but usually will) what driver is responsible.

4-Heat-- download cpu-z, and gpu-z both free to keep an eye on the temps. If it is a desktop open the side of the case and add fans to it. The absolute temp is often not as important as the trend. Does the temp spike when playing games in HIgh res, etc.

Please start by running these hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)
