Solved Genuine Win 7, deactivated, can't reactivate, no phone activation

I think that is where the problem lay. They must've installed an evaluation copy and that's why it expired. I didn't even think to ask them when i collected the computer. However by entering the valid registration code from my original disk it solved the problem.

My suspicion is that they installed a counterfeit - with a hack which broke when you updated the system.
