:cry: I can't take it anymore!!! My icons change on their own. Website icon shortcuts to Facebook, Fox News and other select sites are replaced with a generic Windows blue "globe" icon. Either the icon that is issued by the site is transformed at start-up, or the "globe" is issued from the site and later transformed back to what it is supposed to be...and then, at another stat-up is transformed into a "globe" again! This happens with icons that are tagged with either the blue Windows double arrow tag, or the green and white Norton "check mark" box. My net icons used to be tagged with the single Windows "arrow" mark. I believe this all began when Windows started tagging the icons with that little blue box with the double white arrows. What is causing this and is there anything I can do to stop it? Thanks.

We'll need a screenshot and a list of software installed on your system.

NoN...No, it didn't. I tried a shut-down & re-start and nothing happened.

Non & Theog... Thanks guys. I'm simply going to substitute the "globe" with other Windows icons (I just changed my Facebook icon a minute ago). Maybe the fact that I use the high resolution screen theme has something to do with this. I'm legally blind so I like a dark background, but there are some things that the high resolution setting interferes with, such as changing certain program skins. Anyway, I'm tipping the scales for both of you for trying. Don't worry...I have an icon-maker program. If I can't default 'em I'll make 'em look even better than before...anything but that goddamn globe!

I belive this statement has more to do with the problem you are seeing than anything else.

NOTE: Any icon of your own you want to use instead needs to be a 256x256 pixel .ico Vista style icon file to properly display at larger view settings.
