I completely forgot to tell them about macrium reflect. Its free, it works and its a small footprint, which is more than i can say for Norton ghost.

Speaking of small footprint, I forgot to mention that Acronis, when installed, runs several processes that can't be easily disabled. They don't take up very much in the way of resources but they are running nonetheless.
Because of that, I often use Acronis for backups by using the Bootable Rescue Media on a flash drive. Carries all the same backup functions but, obviously, you can't run on a schedule or open images to edit/copy files easily.
