A friend of mine wants to play a simulation racing game, however, he doesn't have any money right now. Does anyone know a really good free simulation racing game we could play?

You can almost do anything (including racing) in this simulator and add lots of vehicles, maps and other stuff for free. Also there is a great forum.

Worst most horible thing i ever tried!! buggy game bad graphics and no real simulation at all but thanks gave me something to test out tonight.
This is WAY WAY better, based on the game Nascar Heat that came out in 2000 but has 100s of mods you can add to it. Google for how to install and set up but heres the essentials

I just happen to know someone who created this vintage trans am mod

This looks like a really good game but I can't seem to get it to work properly. So I downloaded and installed essentials 2 but I now don't know what tracks or cars to get. What tracks, cars, and mods are you using?

Well you can take a look at the following game. It is an official game from BMW. Good graphics but the only limitation is that you can choose only a BMW M3 to drive, but i think you will enjoy it

BMW M3 Coupé : BMW M3 Challenge racing game

The essentials are just the game itself no cars no tracks,, you have to download a mod with whatever cars you want to race and install that and also find the tracks you want and install thhem, its way to complex for me to explain here,,,,
heres a few sites related that may still have some active members and you can ask or search in the forums,, Good luck!

I would peruse Steam for racing games, and gift them one.

A lot of the games have a metacritic rating listed, anything above 75 rating is very good!

Tons of games under $10 and under $5, remember to GIFT it. ;)

You can shop them via steampowered.com without even installing steam yet.

Flatout 2 is $9.99, see here:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/2990/

Been around so sure to run nicely on even mediocre system.

I only like wreck racing because I'm doing that in regular racing games anyway. :o

2 screen shots I just took playing it, max graphics locked at 60 frames per second.
I noticed it didn't list 7 under OS, so I had to test it, I bought it years ago on CD, but I did
add it to my steam acct. Check the requirements though, on-board and laptop video likely not working, racing games tend to be a bit of a hog with all the constant rendering.

Found a free racing game in my travels this evening:

Download – Nitronic Rush

I checked it out myself very briefly, for free, it's stupendous.
