Google Drive Not Syncing

Windows 7 has a shared folder for Google Drive under Favorites and it shows the contents of my Drive. If I add something to the Drive from my phone or desktop at work (thru the web app) and then look in this folder on my desktop at home it'll be there. But I dragged a file on my home computer into this Google drive folder and it does not appear on Google Drive's web app or on my phone. So it seems that it is not syncing. What can I do?

How are you syncing they changed the old app to new Google backup and sync which backs up in seconds photos can go into Google photos were you have unlimited space so they don't show up on the drive as they don't count against you drive storage

Oh boy now I'm really confused. So the old link from my desktop to Google Drive won't work anymore? I don't really need to back up my computer. The only thing I use Drive for is if I want to "take a file with me" to work or vice versa, or maybe transfer a file from my phone to my computer - I'll save to Drive on the phone and then download it on my computer. So do I need to access it on my computer from now on by going to the Google Drive on the web?

Do you still use the old app as that doesn't work you need Google backup and sync then it will work on the PC you select what to synchronise so you can just use the drive

So do I delete the Drive folder? Its under c:/users/me/Google Drive
