I've just installed Windows 7 and use Firefox as a browser. I installed Google Toolbar because I previously used it because of its Autofill feature. It does not work in windows 7. Any ideas on what might be the problem???
Thanks,
Lorrie

Welcome!

What do you mean, it doesn't work? Will it install? Does it error? Is it missing features?

It installs fine, but there is no search field and no autofill It's in the options and I filled out the information but it doesn't show up on the toolbar like it did in XP.

Is this a new FF or toolbar installation? Something to try. In Firefox, View> Toolbars> Customize menu, then click Restore Default Set

I just got a new computer with Windows 7 on it. Have always used XP previously. I installed Firefox 3.6.3 and the newest Google Toolbar - and have no autofill.
I tried view-toolbars-customize-reset defaults - nothing changed.

I don't see your particular problem discussed anywhere. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling? From what I can see to enable:

Click Toolbar's wrench icon.
On the AutoFill tab, select (or deselect) the 'AutoFill' checkbox.
Click the Add new profile link to create a new profile.
Click Save.

Which I'm assuming you've done. Perhaps the installation was corrupted somehow. A Guy

Yes, I've tried all that. And I've uninstalled Firefox and Google Toolbar and reinstalled several times. Very frustrating :-( Thanks for trying to help.

It finally works. I uninstalled Google Toolbar. I uninstalled Firefox and restarted my computer. Then I downloaded a brand new copy of the Firefox 3.6.3 installer and ran it. Then I installed the Google Toolbar add-on. And IT WORKS!
Thanks for all the suggestion.

This seems to be an issue for some (not me). An often successful alternative is to install the previous version whose blue-highlighted link you will find here, under the <Install Google Toolbar> button.
