I have been using an ATI multi monitor FireMV 2400 card for some time in Win 7 32 bit system, no problem.
I am now doing a clean install Win 7 64 bit system, same exact hardware except new hard drive.
I have installed the 64 bit driver for the graphics adapter. Device Manager tells me it is working properly but the Windows change resolution etc page does not recognize the card and it does not work.
I get an error message from Catalyst that I need to “enable the graphics adapter” using the “Display Manager” Can anyone tell me what this means and how to do this?

That was a good suggestion. Upgrade Adviser sees everything compatible including the FireMV 2400 graphics adapter Which is not working! Says Aero won't work. This is because it is looking only at standard VGA performance. The 2400 somehow needs to be enabled it appears.

By the way, this card is only one year old.

What display adapter appears in Device Manager?

If it's a standard VGA adapter, your drivers aren't installed properly. These are the latest ones recommended by AMD:

ATI FireGL

Thanks Bobkn. The ATI FireMV 2400 shows in Device manager, also the Standard VGA. I have 5 monitors. Normally the FireMV supports 4 and the onboard adapter (which is not installed yet) supports the fifth.

That driver you suggested is the one installed.

Still not working by the way. When I install the onboard Radeon 5420, it works but the Catalyst nonsense doubles the FireMV 2400 drivers so I get the yellow exclamation marks on them in Device Manager. I am trying to uninstall everything, including the Catalyst Manager, when I do so Wndows reinstalls the FireMV drivers from somewhere when I reboot, so that when I then install the Redeon driver it doubles the FireMV drivers. This Catalyst thing driving me nuts. Is there some way to get these drivers without having to go through that?

Just a idea. Remove the FireMV drivers and keep the Radeon drivers. Reboot and see if Windows picks up just one set of drivers for FireMV and keep on set of drivers for the Radeon.

Yes thanks I have done that, many times. Each time I reboot it installs another instance of the 2400 driver. In fact I just formatted the drive and started the Windows 64 install all over again. The 2400 driver appeared by itself from nowhere in the Device Driver, but does not work. I think if the 2400 adapter was enabled somehow, it would not repeat adding the drivers each time I rebooted. I sure would like to know where that driver comes from.

I need a telephone number or email address for AMD, don't see any on their web page.
