Solved Group Policy Issue

Since the last update, my GPE is ignoring my Control Panel preferences to not show about half of the standard CP icons. I removed all the ignores, and added a few to ignore back after a boot, but only about half were removed from the CP.

I did install KB2823324, but removed it later in the day. I didn't seem to cause any issues, but maybe this is one.

It's really not a big deal to have all the icons show if this is not repairable, but I'm a bit a*al about my rig.

Anyone else with this issue? Any thoughts on repair?

Thanks bro, but that's not the issue.

GPE doesn't seem to want to institute my User Config/Control Panel/Hide Specific Control Panel Items since the Tues. update.

Restore your system using System restore to a point before you did the tuesday update.

I'm not sure which method you used to hide the icons in the Control Panel, but you might take a looks at the tutorial below to see if it may be able to help.

Thanks for the response guys.

@ roboticarm, a herd of updates happend this week as well as the Windoze updates, so I'm not restoring.

@ shawn, I used the Group Policy Editor, but as I said it had stopped working for blocking the CP icons.

No biggie, I thought there might be a quick fix.

Well after a couple more boots it NOW seems to be working normally. WTF??
