I like that feature... instead of having to setup a domain controller in a sense.

It's true that it could be useful in some way. Too bad, it's gone....

Maybe because MS did not want to compete with other companies, such as the ones that make DeepFreeze and Returnil.

my guess is either its not in this build because they are doing some major code modification and will implement it back into the rtm or rc2 build or they are just gonna update steady state to integrate it back in as a add-on..my bet is on the second because they still need to keep steady state around for legacy support of older os's like xp and vista.

guest mode is essentially all the features of windows steady state hardcoded into the os

rc 2 would be nice...if ya dont catch the bugs once..its always nice to have a second chance....makes for a quality product imho
