Solved Hacking Disk Defragmenter's 'Last Run' Entry

Hi all, just like the title says, any way to do this? I ported my system drive from a spindle HDD to an SSD, by 1:1 cloning, and so all particulars get cloned over, like last defragmented date.

i would like the defragmenter to read 'Never Run'.

Just a cosmetic, thanks.

What defragmentter did you use?
Was it Windows built in or third party?

windows disk defragmenter.
i did use it before, because i was using a spindle drive.

now that i changed to SSD, of course i won't d o it anymore. but i just want the details under that page to read 'Never Run'. How do i cosmetically change/hack this text?

Hi Magnakai,

Windows disk defragmenter.
Now that I changed to SSD, of course I won't do it anymore

Right-click on the HDD > select Properties > click Tools and Defragment Now…. > click Configure Schedule > click Select Disks.
If the SSD is missing from the screen, then the SSD has been detected by Win 7 and it will not be defragmented.
If the SSD is listed, remove the checkmark.

Hi Paul, very innovative method to try to achieve this. but at the last part, my ssd is listed, but when i remove the check mark, the panel does not allow me to complete - the 'OK' greys out.

how do i get systemto recognize my ssd so that i never see it here at defrawgmentation again?

Just an idea, try it in Safe Mode!

Disk defragmenter would not start in safe mode. i see the button, but clicking on it is unresponsive.

Anyway there is must be a more direct approach to hack this. it must have been recorded in some log, i need to know where and how to rewrite it.

Will physically removing the disk and re-slotting it do the trick? will this reset the defragmenter status to 'Never Run'?

No it doesn't. Just tested. i need to trace where those logs are kept and hack them if it is possible.
