I was getting the BSOD for a few days. I called Compaq and paid $60.00 for them to help me. They walked me through the System Restore Process (which I already knew how to do) it did seem to fix the problem. However the next day (yesterday) I came in and turned the laptop on, and got the screen you should see above. Of course I called Compaq support again and wouldnt you know it they wanted another $60.00 well anyways here I am. I have found that I needed a Windows Installation Disc which I do have (I have another laptop exactly like the one messed up) I inserted the disc and went into the CD Rom startup and the disc ran etc. However it is not fixing nothing it restarts but keeps going to the same page you see above. Please help.

Are you sure they did System Restore and not Factory Recovery? There is a big difference.

Boot the Win7 DVD to run Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times using the DVD provided in Step 6 of Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start. Report back results.

Here is How to Boot A Computer from CD or DVD - YouTube . While in BIOS setup, check that the HD is detected under Storage Devices. Then either set the HD first to boot and use the F key given on first screen to trigger the DVD or set the DVD drive first to boot followed by HD in BIOS setup.

The Compaq factory preinstalled Win7 is a badly corrupted install by all of the bloatware they lard on it. I would strongly consider since you'll have the DVD getting the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 .
