had to do a restore and now I get "the setup controller has encountere

I had a problem with my hard drive after deleting some things a guest user placed on my drive. I did a system restore and now when I open windows I get the following message--"The setup controller has encountered a problem during install. Please review the log files for further information on the error." Went much further back on restore points and still get the same message.
It appears that my office suite 2003 has also crashed and I am unable to reinstall it or set it up. I use it often for my volunteer job as a an English teacher for kids.
I have tried to set up another small downloaded program and have the same difficulty.
I tried to run my originally created recovery discs, but they will not load windows 7.
I am running windows 7 home pro 64 bit on an Asus G74Sx. I7 2630QM, 16GB DDR3 @665 MHz.
I am currently in Guatemala, and have taken it to two different shops that were recommended to me. Neither has been able to overcome this.
Is there Anyone who can offer me a suggestion to get back to my original state, which had been trouble free for almost 4 years.
Any suggestions, help greatly appreciated.
Michael.

What do you mean you did a Restore? That would normally mean System Restore, but it sounds like you instead did a full Factory Recovery. These are not only the worst possible install of Win7 but also regularly fail. If you don't have the disks which were to be made when the PC was set up, then the best course now is to get the best possible install of Win7 by doing a Clean Reinstall Windows 7. Everything needed is in the blue link.

Just a thought.

I'm not sure how a Guest Account could of changed anything unless your Guest was allowed to use your admin account.

Guests - A guest account allows people to have temporary access to your computer. People using the guest account can't install software, hardware, or change settings. While the default "Guest" account cannot be password protected, an existing user account made into only a guest account using an option below can have a password.

Standard user (Users) - A limited unelevated standard "users" account that can use most software and change system settings that do not affect other users. If a standard user wants to do an action that requires elevated rights or affects other users, then they will be prompted by UAC (if set to notify) to provide an administrator's password before being allowed to do so. If UAC is not set to notify, then the standard user will just be denied and not allowed to do the action.

Administrator - An unelevated administrator account that has complete access to the computer and can make any desired changes. Based on your UAC notification settings, administrators may be prompted to provide their password or confirmation before being allowed to open or run anything that requires elevated rights to do so, and make changes that affect the system or other users.
