Yesterday my boot drive started making a beep then click noise so I started to backup everything from that drive to another but I didn't get everything in time as there was at least 800mb of data on it, by the time it stopped I must have been over half way of copying the data, now I'm booting on another drive but I'd really like to get the data off of the beeping drive.
I've taken it apart and put the actuator in the rest position, no difference still beeps, taken the pcb off to check for any burns, no burns. The hard drive hasen't been dropped or moved at all so there shouldn't be any physical damage, I've also taken the top off and plugged it in and there's no movement at all from the actuator or the spindal.
Not sure what else can be done here so any info would be great, don't really want to spend over £400 on recovering data
