I discovered this issue recently, i bought an external drive case so i can move my internal drive installed on my Vista PC and have it accessible on my Win 7 laptop away from home. I don't understand why the hard drive reads as not initialized or formatted on my win 7 pc. I have two from my vista pc, neither read on my 7 pc.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Also when i moved my hard drive back to my vista PC the drive appeared to be blank and unformatted, the data is not lost but the partition data was lost. I was able to recover my lost data using recovery software (that unfortunately was not free)
Temporarily I'm formatting the drive on my 7 PC in hopes there will not be future problems like this.
Oh yeah by Vista PC specs:
- home built
Vista Home Premium X64
Intel i7 920 cpu
MSI X58 Platinum mobo
Corsair DDR3-1600 ram
Seagate SATAII 1.5 TB primary
Toshiba 2TB secondary (internal)
Western Digital 3 TB secondary (internal)
please help
