LF, If your PC takes a lot longer than 30 seconds booting from a SSD, then something is wrong and that should be separately investigated.
You aren't paying attention, Wolfgang. Win 7 itself needs only a bit over 30 seconds to boot (Macrium Reflect adds a dual boot screen that lasts for a few seconds if I'm not sitting right there to select Win 7, which I'm usually not; I also noticed that Win 7 took a bit longer to boot after I activated WMC). The background programs I run take a bit longer to load up and I wait on them rather than risk mucking something up by getting too eager.
What really jacks up the time is my HBA card and the two Marvel chips on my MOBO. After the UEFI on the MOBO does a partial boot up (and that isn't exactly the fastest process in the world), the HBA card has to boot up (and that is even slower), then the Marvel chips have to load up their little ROM (at least that one goes faster), then the UEFI has to boot again so it recognizes the HBA card (and no, there is no way to change that boot order—I've already checked—something about the HBA needing the UEFI to be running to be able to get power to boot up but the UEFI can't recognize the ports on the HBA without a reboot).
Keep in mind that this is a multi-purpose machine that has a lot going on.
