Have gamepad and joystick, how to set default, or select?

I have a joystick and a gamepad, both USB connected and both working. The game I used the joystick for has a built in selection option in the loader, and my machine seems to default to the gamepad which is what all the other games I had called for anyway. But I have a new game (Rise of Flight) that I want to use the joystick for. It doesn't seem to give me any option and just grabs the gamepad as the input device.

It will take the joystick input if I unplug the gamepad, but it is a back of the box connection. Is there some way to control which device is sent to a game that doesn't have internal selection?

I may be wrong of course but if the game does not allow for that option, there is no easy way to get around it. What I would is... get an external switch, kinda like a KVM switch and this way I can have the option to make the JS the default or the GP.

Again, others with more experience on GP & JS will chime in... last time I use a JS was back in 2001 playing SBK2001. Now a days KB/M is all I need.

I would just get a USB hub and put it on your desk and plug the GP and JS into that. Then you can unplug as needed without going to the back of the PC.
