Solved hd 6870 Unigine Heaven Post your score !

They are a pair of 6870 MSI OC twin Frozr II's. That last score was with the cores at 950 and the memory at 1150 with standard voltage. Unfortunatley due to the AB not liking DX11 games in crossfire I can't turn the voltage up.

those are some nice cards /crossfire looks nice i have the diamond hd6870 clocked 975/1215 I just oc'ed my cpu yesterday to 3.7 up from 3.4 slight performance bump ......

Im still waiting on swapping boards and ram as well see if i can get a better score

Anyway I thought about getting another 6950 but in the end decided against it as I didn't want the hassle a crossfire setup can sometimes bring. It's nice when they work though

BTW note how close they sit on my Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5

thats one of the reasons Im kinda against crossfire lack of spacing and the bridge connector is like 1 inch long lol if they come with a bridge that can give you atleast one slot between them both would be awesome

you know what i mean more air less fry ....none the less it looks pretty sexy when it works right and no botched drivers like we been getting in the past

Well actually my fear is more performance related than spacing. Though with the X58A-UD5 space would be a concern as well. However I could have used the last X8 lane PCIe slot for better spacing.....



But I wanted to use both the X16 lanes.

Also I didn't need two bridge connectors as shown. One would have worked. Rookie mistake

yeah i saw the double bridge but i wasn't going to say anything lmao ,It's not nice besides you live and learn Altogether though you have a impressive beast on your hands

ATI released new drivers so I thought I would benchmark them against each other. Nothing crazy to say about them but did get a small 2 fps up in the new set lol.

- hey max, those are amazing results..!!

just tried the 11.4c hotfix, and got these results:



a slight narrowing of the overall fps band..
up slightly on the min, but down a bit on the max..

fraction higher over all..

Hi guys, thanks! All clocks on those benchmarks where stock 6970 with no oc , that new 11.4 driver seems to have made a big difference to the 6900 cards.
That is a good score for the 6870 cards BugMeister.
Time to play around and see what i can get out of the cards at 1280x1024 res, will keep you all posted

Everybody has different opinions but I mostly uninstall via ATI Catalyst Install Manager and never use any registry sweepers. This has worked for me forever and a day. I know others swear by CC Cleaner/Drive sweeper but I don't use them.

Any that's how I do it, just uninstall and install the new ones. Lately though I've just been installing over existing ones, but I usually only do this if the driver is a hotfix.

Ive always just upgraded my ATI drivers over top of the existing installation and never had a issue myself ..

If going to the next release I/E 10.2 -- > 10.3

If rolling back, for whatever reason, I just uninstall with ATIs Express uninstaller, Reboot, and install whichever CCC Im wanting to use.


This is however with my ATI card which reminds me of a interesting point.
Since my new card is going to be a Nvidia card (EVGA 570 SC which should be here by end of next week)

Im wondering what the best means of cleaning out all ATI GPU related stuff before I switch to Nvidia?

If this uninstall method as Ive always done will be all thats needed , or,

ATI express uninstall then run Driver Sweeper in safe mode?

Or someone have a better suggestion
