Hey All.

I have a ATI HD Radeon 4600 with two DVI exit that I use as the following :
- The first one is connected to my IIyama screen (with a VGA adaptater)
- The second one is connected to my Samsung TV 1080p 42 inches with a DVI/VGA cable.

I mainly use my TV to look at 1080p movies I have on my hard drive, typically 7 to 12 Go files.

When I was doing that with XP, that was no problem. With Windows 7 however, I clearly see that the videos are sometimes slowed down, I mean it's like lagging. It's enough to completely waste the interest of the HD. If I read the same vid on my computer screen, that's no problem.

Any advise on what I should do to make it work as well as with XP ?

I was thinking that I might have to buy a DVI/HDMI cable instead od the DVI/VGA one but since it was working with XP I'd like to know if there would be any other solutions ? (Most especially since I have no idea if the HMDI cable would help anyway).

Thanks for your help guys !

Is windows lagging or just the movies ? Can you state the media player and codecs that you are using. You could try CCCP. It plays all videos and has codecs built in to it. Remember to uninstall other codecs first as multiple ones can interfere with each other. As for cables, you can get high quality ones here for cheap.

Just the movies are lagging, or at least I have not noticed Windows 7 doing so.

Actually I have tried several players : Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic, VLC, and even the reader included in Nero 9. They hall behave the same... For codecs I have installed the K-Lite codec pacs.

I'll give a try to CCCP and see what it gives.

Thanks for the link for the cables.
