I've recently purchased a used A665-3DV6 Toshiba Satellite Laptop. It had the BIOS password problem. So I've jumped the CMOS and cleared the password. I've initiated the "out of box state" and it went through the whole process. When it was finished I shut down the computer. Then the next morning I booted the computer up and it stated "HDD Boot Failed". I tried running Factory reset again but there is only a blinking cursor on the top left hand corner of the screen. Help please. I'm totally clue less as to where to go from here.

Follow the steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start to assure correct partition is marked Active then run Startup Repair repeatedly using DVD provided in tutorial. If that fails try the bootrec commands followed by more Startup Repairs.

Is the HD detected in BIOS setup? Test HD using maker's diagnostics in tutorial.

After the BIOS failed screen, It did list the HDD and several other options. I tried rebooting to restart the Factory reset and then nothing loaded up, no Toshiba logo no nothing just a black screen with a blinking cursor at the top left hand corner that never went away.

Please fill in your System Specs in bottom left corner of your post so we can help you better.

It isn't clear at all yet what is happening with you. If you power down and then restart the PC, describe exactly what happens - attach camera snaps if you can.

If you power off and back on, then tap the key given for BIOS setup vigorously every second, what happens? Try all keys given for BIOS interaction.

How exactly did you pull the CMOS battery? Did you try any of the other methods to reset CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS
