Solved HDD not showing up in My Computer

Hello guys, i am having a problem with my hard drive, was trying to resize one of them but something went wrong. The hard drive just disappeared from My Computer, see picture:

I am using Partition Wizard Professional but it doesn't work, when i try to change the letter it just changes back to "*" again.

Any help would be appreciated.

How about the drive mfgr, size, formating, partioning etc.

Sorry for that, i tried to fill it out as good as i could.

I doesn't show up no matter what i try, it just keeps that "*" sign. Im trying to change the letter but then it changes back to "*" again.

I can't format it there's so much very important data on that hard drive.

Ok Good Work

First enter the bios on boot up and see if the disk shows up there. Where on your board do you have the data cable plugged in.

I see you have two sata connectors and two ATA IDE connectors. If you have more than one device in the IDE connector. You may need to set the master slave relationship.

Well, just deleted that partition and created a new one, lost more than 400 GB of Movies, music, and games. Now it shows up in My Computer.
Anyways, thank you for your replies.

Can you suggest a good recovery program?

Ouch Ouch

You will have to hunt a recover programs on the web there are free ones. The one i see mentioned the most on this forum is called "recuva" (notice the spelling)

I have never had occasion to use those apps. Maybe some one else can help. If you created a new partition I don't know if the data is recoverable. We need someone else to comment here.

I used Active@ File Recovery v9.0.3, very nice program, just scanned the partition from which the files had been deleted, and after a 3 hrs scan, i just recovered my deleted files.

I got the paid version.(Sorry if this looks like advertising, but it's not my intention. I'm just happy that it worked for me.)

I forgot to mention that i had to recover the files to another Drive/Partition and then move them back where they were before, because they cannot be recovered to the same drive/partition from which they had been deleted.
