My HDD is showing as a healthy boot NTFS drive while it is in the computer but RAW when hooked up as an external drive. I found this out when I tried to image the HDD and wasn't able to boot from the cloned drive and then noticed it was RAW and then noticed the original drive was RAW too when taken out of the PC.

This all started because I noticed that Acronis true image was making an image of the entire 250 GB drive rather than just the 40GB that were being used. So I thought maybe the HDD was bad and tried to clone it instead to a known good HDD. That's when I saw the cloned HDD fail to boot and noticed the RAW partition.

Raw means it's lost the partition table you need specific partition recovery software there is lots of free software
