HDMI issue..

HELP!!!!

I recently purchased a Dell n5010 and i cant seem to connect it onto my 40" Bravia HD LCD.

i'm trying to connect it via HDMI.. but somehow the laptop doesn't seem to display on my Bravia.. At first i thought it was the cable issue, but the HDMI cable works perfectly fine on the DVD player. Ive tried all short cut keys but it wouldn't help ?

I am using Windows 7 (64Bit)

Could someone guide me in solving this issue..

Did you try right-click on Desktop -> Screen Resolution -> Detect?

same problem as that of me. initially it was detecting the sony lcd but after some restarts the lappi screen now goes blank with no picture on lcd.
