I know that you guys live in USA and are only waking up but I have a BIG problem.

This might sound silly but I am a bit of a geek and have built and repared computers. I have a hard disl and windows is screwing up. It is the only parttion on it. I like to partiton a hard disk with a windows only partition but in this case I am stuffed.
I re-booted the PC with another disk and installed windows. This works fine.
I plugged in the SATA cable to the internal disk. Using MS DOS diskpart I made it inactive. As I am not booting of this internal disk, I tried to delete the windows partiton. It apears I need permission to perform this operation. This is a stand alone PC. I am the sole owner of it. Why do I need permission to delete a folder of another hard disk that is not active and I am not booting from it? HELP ME PLEASE (Desperate)
TIA
Desmond.

You could use GParted, if you have access to a Live Ubuntu CD (or USB).

There are other Disc Partition tools that you can run from CDs/DVDs or USB sticks.
I'm sure that someone can recommend some.

I use GParted for my HDD partitioning.

It's nearly impossible to interpret what you wrote but I think you said you did a booted install to a HD with the old Win7 HD unplugged, then when you plugged back in the old drive you Clean Install Windows 7 can't delete it's old Win7 partition in Disk Mgmt or access its files.

Install Take Ownership Shortcut to run it on the data drive. If the old Win7 partition won't delete use Partition Wizard to delete it and then repartition or recover its space using Partition Wizard Resize Partition Video Help.

It might help if you completed your system specs! Also you do seem to be in the habit of starting a thread then not bothering to respond when someone offers help!
