Hi

Can you help me choose?
I want to buy a new CPU and a board.
I want a cheap/budget solution, office&multimedia use mostly and occassional light gaming.

Which should I choose?
AMD Athlon 5350 or Intel Celeron G1820?

I currently have this AMD model in another computer and I'm happy with it. It has built-in graphics too which performs awesome, beyond expected. It is great for light gaming. Runs 1080p on dual displays, capable of 4K output etc...

But it's clock speed is limited at 2Ghz. You can overclock it to 2.1Ghz but that's it.
It's not slow but given that I'm shocked by it's almost non-existing heat output (man, it doesn't even reach 30C with the stock cooler at full load) I think it could definitely reach more...
I think the TDP might be the limiting factor here, which is 25W only. That's quite cool.

But what about the Intel processor? It has a higher TDP but also a much higher core clock. But it has only two cores, instead of four like the AMD has.

The graphics clock is higher too.
It is 650mhz on the AMD and 1100Mhz on the Intel. These are the maximum values, they can go down when not needed.

I'm mostly interested in the graphics part. What do you think?

Mostly office work and multimedia, including HD media playback and some not very heavy games like Sims 3, GTA 4 etc... I heard that these built-in graphics aren't that bad.

I like to overclock but only moderately. I'd like to overclock that 2.0Ghz but the 2.7Ghz doesn't need it in my opinion. I'd also overclock the RAM.
