Help, my PC keeps randomly turning off.

Hello, i am new to these forums so ask me if you need anything.

Well, i have been having problems lately with my PC.
It has been turning off randomly.
But only seems to happen when i am playing games requiring high performace.
Say im playing Call of Duty Black Ops on my PC.
After 1 hour or 2, my PC randomly turns off.

And i have added a new Graphics card, the nVidia GTS450
When i am playing my core temps are usally 40-46 Celsius and GFX card 50-60 Celsius.

I play on highest settings with 1600x900 and get 60 fps (limit)

Just ask anything if i didnt explain enough.

If its only during games, its because the game is too demanding
Test your graphic card
Test Your Graphics Card Stability with Furmark [Gaming]
Test memory
Download memtest86 and test RAM

Run for 8 passes
If it passes try a good stick in each slot for 3 passes
If it fails do the same for 8 passes.
Finally test CPU

have you changed your PSU also?

could be lacking power if you have a cheap PSU.

also did you uninstall and reinstall the Nvidia drivers after changing cards.

I agree with Rich, test all of your hardware. If it just shuts off, then it sounds like the processor overheating. If it actually restarts then it sounds more like memory.

A restart with no error is almost always power related. If you're certain your tempuraters are fine, then you can bet it's your power supply.

It sounds like it only happens when your system is drawing the most power. Bad memory, drivers, etc etc, wouldn't give you such consistent failure.

Does that Gpu require Pci-E connectors? It likely does, and that system likely didn't come with a capable power supply. If that's the case, what type of power supply are you using, what's the rating on the 12V rail? The amperage.
