Help Needed! Network USB will NOT ENABLE

I need some thoughts and probably some prayers here.

I have a new Netgear WNDA4100 (wireless USB) and the install program can not find the WNDA4100 HOWEVER, Windows 7 finds it and installs it. I can not get the Netgear Install process to complete. Cancelling that results in a disabled network device that will not enable. I did find something interesting. AKAMAI was installed on my machine and after removing that magically the item "manage wireless networks" re appeared on the Network and Sharing Center Page - AKAMAI installed precluded that from being there! However, clicking it does nothing - brings up an empty panel and when one hits "add", you get a network error. I did edit the registry manually and removed anything and everything to do with AKAMAI and it was all over the place. Doing that takes a little time.

There must be some AKAMAI driver or something in the way of this all working - thoughts please !!!!

Configuration Windows 7 x64 bit ASUS P9X79 Pro 32 Gig 4 TB I gig ATI Video Card.

Thanks for checking this out!

You might try running Ccleaner to remove what is left of that AKAMAI program. Use the registry cleaner as well.
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

After that you should try running the sfc/scannow command which might fix the obvious file integrity problems you seem to be having. You may need to run this command more than once.

Just type sfc/scannow into an elevated command prompt and hit enter, let it run and report back what it says. :)

The Ccleaner software seems like good stuff. I like that. The SFC command found no issues. I am again at square one. More help please. THANKS!

If AKAMAI is removed then you should have no problems installing the drivers from the Netgear site. :)

Okay you all should be right but it is not working. Spent six hours with Netgear, installing uninstalling adding REVo to get registry entries that you can not even edit out (like VID's - REVO gets them). Bottom line, it aint working. THis has been install, uninstall using REVO, reboot insafew mode, edit the registry and get the minor stuff REVO misses, run Ccleaner, Reboot and do it all over again. The last step was SFC command just to be sure and that came back clean! THis is frustrating and that machine is DOA! Thoughts please!
